All valuables, uniform and items of equipment should be clearly labelled. We advise that items of particular value are not brought to school. This includes expensive pens and watches, which must be removed for sport. No jewellery or money is to be brought to school, unless with permission, when that money must be handed in to Reception for safe keeping. Personal tablets, laptops and electronic games are not permitted, although Kindles (basic, not Fire) and other e-readers are permitted, to encourage pupils in their reading.
Pre-Prep pupils and those in Year 3 do not require pencil cases. To avoid upset, pupils should not bring toys to school without prior permission from their teacher, or for ‘Show and Tell’ days.
Insurance against loss or damage to a pupil’s property is the responsibility of parents or guardians. Where a pupil is found to be responsible for damage to another pupil’s belongings, that pupil will cover the cost of replacement.
Lost Property
Wherever feasible, we recommend that all items of kit and uniform are clearly labelled with the correct name. When property is lost, having items named facilitates its swift return and saves a great deal of frustration and cost to those involved.
In the event that clearly labelled lost property is not returned by the end of the next school day, parents should e-mail their child’s form teacher / form tutor to enquire. We regret that we cannot take responsibility for returning lost items, but will do our utmost to help.
