Giving the pupils the platform and time to express their opinions, make suggestions and feel able to instigate change is very important at Feltonfleet.
In the Pre-Prep, Year 2 vote for members of the Pupil Parliament who join the Pupil Voice Committee.
In the Prep School there are three committees, elected by their forms (Pupil Voice, School Council and Food Committee) in September.
These committees meet twice termly to discuss aspects of pupil welfare, the school environment and the catering and dining provision, with follow up given by the Deputy Head (Pastoral) between meetings.
Leadership & Positions of Responsibility
Heads of School, School Prefects, Lower School Prefects, Pre-Prep Prefects and other positions of responsibility such as House Captains, and sports captains are positions filled by deserving Year 8 pupils, who are chosen by the Headmistress after a long and considered period of close consultation involving Year 7 pupils and all staff.
The Year 7 pupils attend an interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team. We make a great effort to award positions of responsibility widely across the cohort.
